Ball State Massage
Ball State University announces the launch of Ball State Massage, a new wellness initiative aimed at promoting relaxation and well-being within the Ball State community. With the increasing demands of academic and personal life, Ball State Massage aims to provide a therapeutic touch to students, faculty, staff, and visitors, enhancing both physical and mental health.
Ball State Massage is a collaboration between the Ball State University Recreation Services and the College of Health. Under the supervision of licensed professionals, this initiative offers a variety of massage therapy services to cater to diverse needs and preferences. Whether seeking relief from stress or muscular tension, recovering from an injury, or simply aiming to improve overall wellness, Ball State Massage aims to meet the diverse needs of its clientele.
Massage therapy has long been recognized for its multitude of benefits, including stress reduction, improved circulation, boosted immune system, pain relief, and enhanced mental clarity. By integrating massage therapy into the Ball State community, the university aims to create a more well-rounded and balanced environment.
“We recognize the importance of well-being in the lives of our students, faculty, and staff,” says Dr. Deborah A. Etheridge, Director of the College of Health. “Ball State Massage presents an opportunity to cultivate a positive and relaxed atmosphere within our community, ultimately leading to enhanced productivity, creativity, and overall satisfaction.”
Ball State Massage offers a range of massage techniques to cater to individual needs, including Swedish, deep tissue, sports, prenatal, and hot stone massage. Each session is customized to the client's specific requirements, providing personalized care and attention.
“I am thrilled to be part of this collaboration,” says Nancy Thompson, a licensed massage therapist and instructor who will be overseeing the operations of Ball State Massage. “Our team of experienced, licensed professionals is dedicated to providing high-quality therapeutic services. Our aim is to create a calming and nurturing environment where individuals can truly unwind and rejuvenate.”
Massage services are available in various formats, including 30-minute, 60-minute, and 90-minute sessions, with discounted rates offered to Ball State students. Located at the University Wellness Center, Ball State Massage offers a tranquil and welcoming space where clients can escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
In addition to individual massage sessions, Ball State Massage also provides on-site chair massages for events, meetings, and conferences. This service allows for a quick and effective stress relief session, guaranteeing relaxation and rejuvenation for attendees.
To enhance the overall wellness experience, Ball State Massage is also working on developing educational programmes and workshops to promote self-care techniques and teach individuals how to integrate relaxation into their daily lives.
Ball State Massage is ready to welcome clients, with availability Monday through Friday from 8 am to 8 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. To ensure the utmost safety and well-being of clients, enhanced cleaning protocols, social distancing measures, and additional safety precautions, following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, have been implemented.
